and the tie cord on the bag shall be as specified in 3.2.10. The bag, containing the repair kit components, shall
be securely tied and placed in the repair kit pocket of each completed tent.
3.3.10.1 Components, repair. Components for each kit shall consist of the items listed in table I.

3.3.11 Wicking. There shall be no dripping of water through the tent stitching when the tent is tested as
specified in 4.5.1. The cup test is intended to ensure that non-wicking thread has been utilized and that no
lubrication has been added to the polyester thread prior to or during the sewing operation.
*3.3.12 Repairs. Any necessary repairs shall be effected in accordance with Department of the Army Field
Manual FM 10-16 except that hand-sewn patches, or cemented patches other than as specified herein, will not
be acceptable. Cemented patches on holes, cuts or tears not more than 1 inch in diameter or length, using
cement in accordance with Part No.LA495 of Clifton Adhesive Company, or equal shall be permitted.
A maximum of three cemented patches per tent will be allowed without prior authorization. A patch shall be
large enough to overlap the damaged area with a margin of at least ¾ inch on all sides. Cemented patches shall
