*3.2 Materials and components. Materials and components shall be as specified herein and in referenced
documents and drawings. Materials not definitely specified shall be of the quality normally used by the
manufacturer provided the complete item complies with all provisions of this document. It is encouraged
that recycled material be used when practical as long as it meets the requirements of this document.
*3.2.1 Cloth, wind-resistant sateen, cotton. The cloth for the tent shall be Camouflage Green 483 and
shall conform to MIL-C-12095.
*3.2.2 Cloth, cotton duck. The cotton duck for the peak reinforcement shall be Camouflage Green 483
and shall conform to type I of MIL-C-43627. Requirements for colorfastness to weathering shall not
apply.
*3.2.2.1 Cloth, coated. The cloth for the tent cover shall conform to type II, class 2 of
MIL-PRF-20696 and the color shall be Camouflage Green 483.
*3.2.2.2 Fastener tape. The fastener tapes, hook and pile shall conform to type II, class 3,
Color 3422 of A-A-55126.
3.2.3 Cloth, netting, nylon. The nylon netting for the ventilator opening and screen door shall
conform to type I or II of MIL-C-3395.
3.2.4 Shield, stovepipe, tent. The flexible, silicone rubber coated stovepipe shield shall conform to MIL-
S-43002.
*3.2.5 Tape, textile, cotton. The tape shall be Camouflage Green 483 and shall conform to type I, class
4, ½ inch, ¾ inch, 1-1/2 inch and 2 inch widths (as specified on applicable drawings) of MIL-T-43566.
For covers only, polypropylene tape conforming to type I, class 4, ¾ inch width of MIL-W-44049 may be
used as an alternate.
*3.2.6 Webbing, textile, cotton. The webbing shall be Camouflage Green 483 and shall conform to type
IIb, class 4, 1 inch width and type III, class 4, 5/8 inch and 1-1/2 inch widths (as specified on applicable
drawings) of MIL-W-530. For covers only, polypropylene webbing conforming to type IIb, class 4, 1
inch width of MIL-W-44049 may be used as an alternate.
*3.2.7 Webbing, textile, woven, low elongation. The webbing shall be natural, conforming to type I, 1
inch width of MIL-W-43638.
3.2.8 Thread, polyester. The thread for the tent screens and cover shall conform to type I, class
1, sub-class B, shade S-1 (C.A. 66022) of V-T-285. The dyed thread shall show fastness to weathering
equal to or better than the standard shade sample. When no standard shade sample is available, the thread
shall show good fastness to weathering.
