*2.3 Order of precedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification
and the references cited herein, the text of this specification takes precedence. Nothing in this
specification, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has
been obtained.
3. REQUIREMENTS
*3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article
inspection (see 4.2 and 6.2).
3.2 Materials and components. Materials and components shall be as specified herein and
on the applicable drawings. Materials and components not definitely specified shall be of the
quality normally used by the manufacturer provided the completed item complies with all the
provisions of this document.
3.2.1 Aluminum alloys.
*3.2.1.1 Casting. Aluminum alloy castings shall conform to alloy number D 712.0 or
713.0, F or T5 temper of ASTM B26/B26M.
