*3.2.1.2 Plate and sheet, 6061. Aluminum alloy 6061 plate and sheet shall conform to
temper T6 of ASTM-B-209.
*3.2.1.3 Bar, 6061. Aluminum alloy 6061 bar shall conform to temper T6 of
ASTM-B-211.
*3.2.1.4 Bar and rod, 2024. Aluminum alloy 2024 bar and rod shall conform to temper
T4 of ASTM-B-211 or ASTM-B-221.
*3.2.1.5 Shapes, 6063. Aluminum alloy 6063 shapes shall be extruded conforming to
temper T5 of ASTM-B-221.
*3.2.1.6 Tube, 6061. Aluminum alloy 6061 tube shall conform to temper T6 of ASTM-
B-308 or WW-T-700/6.
3.2.2 Steel.
3.2.2.1 Sheet, carbon. Carbon steel sheet shall conform to commercial quality, hot rolled
of ASTM-A-569.
3.2.2.2 Bar, carbon. Carbon steel bar shall conform to ASTM A 108 in the grade
designations as specified on the applicable drawings.
*3.2.2.3 Bar, corrosion-resisting. Corrosion-resisting steel round bar shall conform to
class 304, condition A, cold finished of SAE-AMS-QQ-S-763.
3.2.3 Buckle, double bar with lip. The double bar buckle with lip shall conform to
Waterbury Buckle Co. (or equal) 1-inch, No 789 steel (see 6.5 and drawing 5-4-3331).
3.2.4 Webbing. Webbing shall conform to type IIb, class 4, camouflage green 483 size 1
inch of MIL-W-530 or MIL-W-44049.
3.2.5 Primer. Primer shall conform to composition G or L, as applicable, color Y of
TT-P-1757.
3.2.6 Enamel. Enamel shall conform to either class A or B, composition G or L, as
applicable Olive Drab color No. 20487 of TT-E-529.
3.2.7 Clip ends. The end clip shall conform to type I, class1, size 1 inch of MIL-C-496.
3.2.8 Thread, polyester. Polyester thread shall conform to type I, class 1, subclass B,
camouflage green 483, thread size F of V-T-285.
3.3 Alternate components. Components offered as equivalent to components specified in
this document and on the referenced drawings as a specific manufacturer's part number or equal
shall be functionally equal to the manufacturer's part number identified as of equal or better
quality. The incorporation and inclusion of such a component in the design of the specified end
product shall not require modification or change to any other specified component and shall not
reduce ease of maintenance to it or any other components, unless such modification or change is
specifically approved by the contracting officer. Prior to manufacture of the first article, or if
none is required, prior o commencing production, the contractor shall submit for the contracting
officer's approval, a list identifying each proposed alternate component, together with proof that
